Safelane General Questions in General Discussion
Gamer Girl Georgina (>'')...

I'm a divine 3 who mainly plays safelane. I was playing support for more role queues today and my safelane Gyro, who's higher ranked than me, left his lane 10 minutes into the game to push bot, even though he had free farm top. My mid said if I play safelane, I should always leave the safelane by 8 minutes and push bot because it's safer and more impactful.

Is this the general consensus among higher ranked players? I just got to divine 3 and i'm trying to learn how higher ranked safelaners play so any other general advice would be great.

    Thanks in advance

There is a video in game leap about dead lane. It explains why people do this that you mentioned.

carries dont rotate enough, unless you are a terrorblade/naga/am/wk who wants to go run into the jungle, u usually want to rotate towards the enemy safelane.

It’s not because of deadlane. This concept doesn’t apply to the current patch (or it applies partially). It’s not as huge & important as it was. Taking enemy tier 1 safe lane is a huge objective. Either mid or safe lane should rotate early to do it. Mid kinda doesn’t want to do it, coz it will mostly mean losing mid tower which is more important. Early rotation can snowball your team really hard (taking a lot of the map from the enemy). People underestimate those tier 1 towers, how much map they deny.

Yes it has huge impact when u push bot tier 1 tower because u can secure their jungle and their outpost and they wont have enough space, but gyro wont have to do that to go to bot, u should go instead.

              Yes .

If you are dire, the reason you leave top as a carry is because if you stay there your farming patterns would go away from objectives (towers) which is not what you want specially if you pick a carry that can apply pressure (ex. gyro, jugg etc). By going bot you farm towards objectives plus you can apply pressure because of how the map works (specifically jungle camp orientation).

TLDR: Top lane>farming pattern would go away from enemy tower. Bot lane>farming pattern would go towards enemy tower.
                Just my opinion

EDIT: Top tier 1 tower is also garbage to take in terms of map control it gives you compared to bottom ones (if you're playing dire and vice versa).

^ Nice illustration, I would agree, everything right now is about map pressure of anykind, instead of farming in a void you can do both.

technically if ur super strong u can take their offlane t1 and try to take over their triangle but realistically thats super difficult because of the proximity of the mid tower and the 2 t2 towers there, its much easier as dire to move bottom and take over the safelane jungle, and the outpost, because the towers there are much farther away. this is part of the reason dire is unfavored compared to radiant (at least traditionally speaking, things are changing somewhat, there are dire advantages), but basically since both sides want to move into the opposing safelane jungle, but roshan is located in top, radiant naturally ends up with a roshan advantage while dire does not, to offset this they have dire's outpost closer to roshan, but if radiant secures the outpost and mid t1 then dire cant do a lot abt it.
