Seems like they really tweaked calibration. Everyone capable of actually doing good will literally end up at least 4k

Curious if anyone has tried seeing of the old ceiling of 3500 for calibration still exists in this new system? Would require a new smurf ofc so I'd expect that result to take longer to come out.
Do we have enough data to know if the new medals have roughly the same MMR requirements as the medals from last season?

It's almost the same. The value of one star was about 140 MMR last season, iirc, and its 150 MMR now because of the rescaling from 0-5 stars to 1-5 stars.
Not sure what happened. Everything was great. Highest MMR of my life at 4400. Calibration comes. I get some of the worst games of the past 6 monhts. Im talking trolls, huge range of skill, players that dont know what they are doing even.
I go 3-7 in Calibration. Go from 4400 MMR to 3500 MMR. Ancient 4 to Legend 1. I am actually devastated. I worked so hard to get up to Ancient 4 close to divine bracket. I dont deserve this. I dont care how good or bad I played in these games. It literally erased my 2 years of progress in 10 games.
One of my games I HAD A TRILANE MID INVOKER PL ENIGMA WITH NO1 TOPLANE ALLOWING THEIR LIFESTEALER TO FREEFARM A 10 MINUTE RADIANCE.
I am beyond upset. I want to kill myself. I have never been so upset about something.
To top it off I now have 5 Low Prio games because of 1 intentional abandon and 1 accidental. Honestly this couldnt be any worse.
Chill man. You need to step away from the computer and go get some fresh air. Take a break from dota. A video game is never worth your life. Go pet and play with an animal, rub one out, hang out with friends, or whatever you need to do. When on a losing streak. Take a day off.

Ruined the lanes, wouldn't cooperate all game, wanted to last pick a support tidehunter, did zero supporting despite that.
I've been almost entirely VHR, and this was the first VHR game this player has -ever- played, after all his calibration games being normal skill bracket.
I'm not particularly upset about it, but just documenting it for another anecdote of weird calibration game examples. I'm previously Ancient 1, and the game I just played was full of players who were previously Legend 2 or lower, so I'm expecting a massive drop down to low legend after my next and final calibration game. Oh well.

If I tried my best and didn't play Tinker and didn't tiltn on my Meepo game I lost, I think I could easily get it to at leeast 2600-2700 MMR..
