Well dunno how did you shreded 2 low prio games from playing battlecup, but generally battlecup is a custom lobby game not solo or party queue so your ladder stuff shouldn't affect lobby games.
As of now, Low Prio can affect Battle Cup.. When i find some party.. They always kicked me just because im low prio
i am friends with people and i play dota with them
its not like i played dota with randos and called them my friends

So I left a few games and got into low prio with 5 low prio games
yesterday there was a battlecup tho and I played it, not problem with the low priority altho everybody was marked as being in low priority
here comes the interesting part: I got 5 low prio games and 2 were gone after the battlecup(I won 2 games during it)
