I know a player who calibrated 2.4k on his first account because he spammed riki. same guy wanted to make another one to reach 3.5k but he was tired of his 2-3 hero pool so he tried other heroes. this time he calibrated 1.7k .
You can't get better at a certain level if you don't know how other heroes are played.
Generally that is true. You come across games where that hero is super counter-able, or just bad. Not always going to be a loss, but still not advisable. Better to select about 5 heroes and cycle them through. Unless you are a boss, like me.
Spamming a hero you learn the hero if done for long periods and you improve. You will inflate your mmr and when you go to another hero you will struggle to play a hero you don't know at your inflated mmr. Especially if change role.
Keep in mind there is a lot more to dota then knowing x heros and how to win your lane.
Say you learnt ember very well, play him mid, you spam him and to 5k, then you change and start playing support you might find it hard to play suport at 5k because you don't know how to.
Nah, i think that when you spam core, you'll realize that everybody wants to play core, i suggest learn how to support because in those kind of situations you will need to adjust
i think i've heard of one guy that spams riki only, i've heard he's 6.4k mmr.
I've heard he's called zdonfrank, but that's all speculation.
When you spam a hero you can gain crazy mmr.
i went from getting rekt in 4k bracket to raping 7ks.
but then when people Ban clock i go from 6k plays to 5k plays.
Also my learning curve is instantly changed since.
When i spam say clock.
I slowly move towards 7k with a very clear forward momentum.
But the thing about When you say randomly play heroes.
You might imrove on that hero and even dota skill. but lose mmr.
So the next game you play will be lesser quality.
So when you now learn Yet another new hero.
Your new Starting point of improvement is lowered and people often fail to realize that
We humans are not EndGoaldriven.
we are goal oriented.
We do not like to be Instantly good at something its the journy there that matters.
If you are the best player at all heroes you would stop playing dota.
thats why international ranked made
i saw long time ago a thread that asking for a matchmaking witch high tier player could match against low tier one so both of them get some experience (low one got gud experience against high one, high one get, umm, sum masacre?), and yet thats what IR made for
int ranked is an event to promote a Pay2play while boosting the money the International gets.
Its a genius idea on so many levels.
It depends on how the hero is changed. Buffs will increase win rate, and nerfs will decrease win rate.
