I'm 3.8k and my friend has probably logged 10 games total. I'm finding that when we play together the other team is around my mmr but there doesn't seem to be a player thats new. I'm wondering what MMR a new player (less than 50 games) is considered when grouping. Thanks.

700 mmr deviation isn't that hard to achieve

According to the dotabuff system: 700 mr gap means that player will 99% win the game versus a player with 700 mmr lower. Interesting, right?

700 gap as in 700 AVERAGE higher maybe, as in either everyone is 700 higher or two guys are ~2k higher

                  Hi OP,

I've been looking at your matches. The Dota system is probably still trying to determine what skill tier division it will place you after a certain number of games.
This is necessary because it wont place you in low tier division taking in accordance your buddy is a smurf account. And you guys gonna roll over the new guys and probably they gonna delete Dota after getting stomped for 2-3 games.
I would assume a high number of Dota players have smurf accounts, and almost everyone i know. It is Dota's main priority to separate those who are smurfs and non smurfs. And the only way to do it is to analyze the data from your games together.

Also, taking in consideration. The 50% win rate equilbrium that exists in almost all online games. When you are above 50% winrate, the system will try to lower that win rate. Unless your are a pro or play in 5 stacks, you will simply be queued against higher skill or same skill opponents while having lower skilled team mates. This is also necessary for the game to continue on making everyone win.
Notice around 99% of Dotabuff players are not below 47% winrate. Dota doesnt want you or anyone to delete the game because you think you are not good enough, it will give everyone a chance.

I know it may sound weird. But try googling things like "Forced win rate" or in Fifa 2017 case "Match Scripting" and see what I mean.
