Don't compare Mek and Greaves.
Mek was bad becaused it would heal in absolute values, thus would fall off beyond 30 mins.
Greaves scale due to regen threshold and percentage heal+dispel on owner, thus are viable at any stage.
Also, ultra-lategames are outliers. I could buy a fucking Dagon 5 on pos. 5 Dazzle, were the game 120 mins long too.
well it was 50-70 minutes
and greaves cost like 2x the mek so yeah makes sense that they are better, any supp that would buy mek would eventually upgrade it to greaves anyway.
i don't get what you mean honestly so i will just answer the title
mek on supports is game winning item BUT supports can't offer it on time unless they don't buy wards/smoke/sentry etc.; so it is better for some pos 3 like underlord/BB/omni offlaner or even pos 2 like Miracle-'s DK to buy Mek since they can get the farm
ye but ppl say that mek/greaves is bad on support coz of the timing and if you cant get it in time and you dont have offlaner that gets it, you just get a pipe
IF you can't get mek in 20-23 minutes you're playing bad support imo. That's why I try to pick supports that can farm somewhat efficiently. I've gone from 3.5k to 3.8k in under 20 games spamming Mek omni into grieves. If you have the timing especially at this MMR level you will win 90% of the time assuming you don't suck balls and most games have been stomps.
I dont get it, there are a op hero now named underlord who can stun, farm ridiculously fast and support. Getting greaves before 20-25 min is possible with underlord and its now his meta

so im watching an ultra-lategame 7k mmr game and both teams have greaves on postition 5s, bane and witch doctor respectively.
