Yeah universe played like shit. He didn't use ravage on that solo sand king gank mid and sk got away, then he blows ravage on a solo dk at the t2 and they have no follow up. Just shitty communication all around.
But really their picks were garbage. That sk pick completely countered pl, they piked a fucking gyro into riki/dk/naix, they picked one fucking disable vs a naix, they deserved to lose just off draft. Their draft sucked.
arteezy didn't even play that bad, they keep putting him in terrible positions with the draft. He got countered every game except the one they won when he was on dp. Really universe didn't play that great, EE was basically on tilt entire tournament and the drafts sucked.
Look at the last game, even if everything's the same, just pick a short lane slardar over gyro and that game goes a lot differently. They probably shouldn't have picked pl either, disruptor is pretty good vs pl with his ult and pl doesn't counter naix or dk at all, actually dk handles him pretty well with splash dmg and fire breath. It's kind of a tough spot, empire had a great opening, but if you pick a more versatile nuker mid and a better carry to deal with naix they have a shot, maybe qop mid cus she has stuff that goes through immunity, and then slardar or wk or sven or something safe lane. I know pros hate to use wk carry but it's better than gyro here.

Navi is a team which has success atm because of their team coordination, if one player stands out because of his individual skill its Ditya.ra and surely not Dendi, sometimes its pretty obvious that he is "only" 6k, while hes very experienced and functions well with his team his mechanics are severly lacking vs other professional mids (he got out-cs'ed in the early laning phase as WR + Drow Aura against Arteezys Puck, and I think it's pretty clear Arteezy isnt really playing well atm).
So yeah, if you got any actual arguments im looking forward to hear them otherwise dont bother replying.

G2 was humiliation for MVP, miracle winning mid, Tide killed twice in laning stage, Moon abble to do well in offlane and killing safe lane slardar once he got chrono... And then those teamfights just turning around when MVP were frustrated and trying to finnish off some1 on low health but instead getting destroyed by others...
If OG keep on playing THAT WELL, they can win the major...

Ok well last night, again fnatic vs liquid, DP + lycan combo obliterates fnatic, then fnatic lets naix through, loses again. Pretty rough, they even picked sven to counter lycan and dp (his warcry very good vs both) and couldn't do it. It's starting to look like to win you pick dp mid or naix anywhere. Oh and dire has like a 70% win rate lol. Even with nerfs rosh matters way too much.
I'm looking forward to an mvp liquid rematch, they just gotta get by lgd, which doesn't seem that bad. It was pretty funny listening to the crowd with fnatic, all the cheers and chicks yelling we love you.
Teams need to stop picking jug too, he's getting crushed every game. I think it might be more to due with builds than the hero, cus most teams are still building the slower paced battlefury build. OG went drums, vanguard into manta jug, eventually got skadi and abyssal. Fought early and much more effective. The pace of current game is way too fast for battlefury or farm heroes like medusa and AM.
Why is everyone hating on wings? They are one of my favorite teams to watch because their drafting is so creative and solid. Sure they don't have an enormous amount of skill, but they probobly could take a game off of any team in the world.
Also Dire Wolf you are right in that jug bf is pretty ineffective in pro games, but the aghs build is really good again, s&y is really good, drum is the worst item ever and no one should buy it, etc. Jug is picked in the pro scene alot because he has insanely diverse item builds due to him being so basic. Jug will always have a presence.
Actually idk, only 3 games without bfury and he's 1-2. Bfury build actually has better win rate, 5-8, 38% vs 33%. Sample size might be too small though. I tried to look at matchups vs specific heroes but the sample size is poor and doesn't seem to vary a ton except that I don't think jug ever beat a team slardar, probably cus that -armor they can just blow him the fuck up. I can't pinpoint what it is, he's just not performing well and still picked quite a bit, in that 2nd tier of popularity.
Another note, heroes not picked in the main event yet: arc, bloodseeker, ck, luna, meepo (has been banned a few times), ogre magi, omni, OD, pudge, pugna, sniper, storm, techies, troll warlord, warlock, wraith king and zeus.

Newbee showed how fcking high level they are... but OG stepped up - n0tail's Naga was great (and whole team did great job giving him space for farm), Fly godlike crystal maiden, Miracle as great as usuall.... Moon had also great games despite once roaring ancient creep instead of iniciation...
Another absolutely insane game by MindControl on Slardar, so hard to ban vs Liquid, you gotta ban Earthspirit and Lycan, most probably Slardar aswell, giving Fata DP is not a good thing either. Amazing team, glad that europe is so well represented.
even tho miracle individual skill is on a pretty high lvl and notail did a great job, cr1t is the mvp, thats for sure, this guy is able to pull up rly great plays even when his team was far behind, definitely my favorite OG player and one of the best sup players.
Moon could ve avoided some of the misplays, but also did rly well, besides they are still winning, so...

On performances since the knockout phase, I'd say Fnatic, MVP Phoenix, (maybe) OG, and Newbee have the best opportunity to take this major.
VG.R and Navi have outside chances, but i think they are more likely to finish in the top 5 than first.
Also, sad days for NA dota - my favourite COL's playstyle limitations were brutally exposed by Liquid yesterday, and now DC bites the dust too.
