Spectre pick was just... I have no words. The follow-up Veno was also questionable, it felt like we have no AA, better pick Veno. And Universe played atrociously tbh.
I don't think it was picks. Alliance just outplayed them. Sumail had a terrible series & Alliance movement was much better. They clearly don't know how to play against such a playstyle yet. I think in the Majors EG will be much stronger & be better prepared. You can't ban out Alliance, coz they have too many good meta heroes that fit their playstyle. EG needs a better heroes pool. I think it's time for them to learn Chen, Enchantress, offlane Druid & wisp. It seems like this meta favors playmaking mids & heavy farming offlane.
It's bad? I mean, what does it achieve? It doesn't really stop the push, doesn't really help win the lanes or even setup kills.
i wud agree with the part about universe tho; i also really didnt understand why he needed to the safelane against a duolane when veno needs levels and it gave so much space for chen
EG just thought that they can play a little greedy & go for wombo combo zeus-veno-spectre-WD. On paper it looks nice, but it's really hard to not play from behind with it. They also wanted Veno vs NS & to get better vision. If not Veno then what would you pick? I think there wasn't a single good pick out there. Sumail had a terrible game (he shouldn't die mid) that what made them struggle. It's the 2nd time I see him playing Zeus & I'm not convinced by him play...However he played 1 game before as QoP & solo died to not lvl 6 Puck...I think in general he just played horribly & that mostly cost EG the series.
The one annoying thing about Majors is that tournaments like these become more meaningless. The Major teams are already set so if one team theoretically finished last at Starladder and Mars but finish top 3 at the Major they would automatically get an invite for the next one and be considered a top team. I wish they waited a little later to do the qualifiers and invites, to make these LANs more meaningful.

I don't get the NA vs EU thing. Why care about the region that wins more than the teams? European teams have often had players from NA (mostly Canada) anyway. Complexity Gaming even has 3 swedes in their roster, despite being american-based.
Because NA is two countries while EU is a lot, so NA wants something to be proud of.
