In NMM, you have so-known "hidden mmr", which is totally separate from your mmr in RMM. It means that when you climbed 1650 pts in ranked, your hidden mmr in NMM didnt change, unless you played in NMM as well. In order to increase it, you have to play & win there.
If you want something both relaxed and competitive, I would suggest to go for party ranked games with friends you feel comfortable with.
So i have to play like 500+ games with full idiots to get better normal matchmaking? Oh wait...
if you for some reason need it for solo normal mm, yeah you would have to grind some games, but they would be easy.
i remember when i had charms i would win 10 games in a row in my normal skill games and get ez sets

But recently I climbed from normal skill to very high skill, all you need is rape games consistently and it's not hard
Btw guys, how you think, why dotabuff don't show average kda of account here?

cause KDA means nothing in terms of reflecting your skill, it only reflects your playstyle. Also, stuff like wins/losses/winrate are simply more important and more interesting for ppl to see, and that's why they are on the top of the page; while relatively few ppl find it interesting to check one's KDA.

^why not to open Matches and just sum up your average amount of kills and assists and divide them by deaths?
I just played a very high skill pub, and had shit team mates who fell part before i even hit 6. We had an undying + invoker offlane and the undying said " This faceless and WD combo is killing us, the Void bashes are real" i'm like dude... you're using Undying and losing in a pub match with him to Void....... Then our jugg got raped top by a dagon (even before boots) rushing Nature's Profit.

Hi guys, inb4 sorry for bad english.
I started to play dota in 2013, i was so bad and got normal skill in my games. Then i calibrate my account on 2100 mmr.
Time went and i improve my skill, up my mmr 2100-3750 on this moment, my ranked games is "very high skill".
But in normal matchmaking i still play in normal skill bracket.

When i'm tired of ranked i wanna play with players with the same skill as me in normal games, but can't. Players in normal games so mad and games don't bring me pleasure. This looks like unfair bots games.
I played normal matchmaking more with high k/d/a and hero damage, but this doesn't help.
