when they pick techies pick something ranged or smth that can harass and just tp to safelane cuz thats mostly where he'll mine.
for heroes: furion with his treants, druid with his bear, ta with refraction, zeus to not waste too much money, illusion heroes to send them on mines etc
ranged heros. true sight. illusions. creeps. zeus. natures profit. aaand tp to safelane t1 so he cannot mine there. I guess u knew that already?
tp to the safelane is honestly the best advice, completely fucks the techies over if you tp when he tps and you spot him
other than that just pick high hp/armor heroes if you hate red mines (axe, sven), and true sight/illusion/ranged if you have more difficulties later
Hmm i have heard about the tp to safe lane thing but never did it because I have never really taken Techies seriously enough to start game planing for him but he's wrecked like 3 of my recent slark games making me look like a pile of shit so I acknowledge I need to put higher priority on him.
Here's some proper advice for the entire team regardless of your heroes.
Play passively. That's it. If you play passively, you deny techies any opportunity to snowball. The result? He'll have close to no levels nor farm and will have to leech it off his teammates.
An underlevelled techies means you need not worry about remote mines as much because they'll hurt way less. That's the reason he's not used much in competitive except as a surprise last pick to throw people off; because if you respect the hero, you'll make his life that much harder.
you cant always play passively
the best techies players are those assholes who pick techies + gyro and multiple hard carries so that if you dont push you lose
Right, techies should only be used in conjunction with hard carries who win late, spectre, medusa, sniper are the big ones, gyro and void would work here too.
This game made me so pissed. Brown shadowed techies and said he would last pick him then green pick alch, a hero who does NOT want the game to go late (cus his advantage is being 6 slotted when enemies are 3 slotted) and who is not great in lane, thus ruins the techie pick, guy picks techies anyway, we have no hard carry, ez loss.
"the best techies players are those assholes who pick techies + gyro and multiple hard carries so that if you dont push you lose"
??
Does thou lack comprehension skills? Just skip the early game roaming bullshit. Supports stop juke in and out of trees in attempt to harass and depending on the situation give up killing the offlaner entirely if it has a high chance of inciting a techie suicide kill.
Then what happens? You have a goldless and expless techies whose only option to gain said gold/exp is to sap it from the rest of his teammates. Instead of creating space, he reduces it and takes their farm away.
Without retarded aggression against a techies, it is impossibly hard for him to level up while still being useful.
Without levels and without gold, 300/450 dmg remote mines don't hurt and take too long to setup as opposed to 600/750 dmg mines. Land mines quickly become useless once your cores start picking up some armor. In early game, he needs like 3-4 mines to kill someone. Mid game onwards? 7-ish plus mines against anyone except a support.
Before disregarding my earlier advice entirely, just use your head a little before thinking you know everything and that you've already thought about that.
Too often I see teams go full sentries and tryhard to stop the Techies, ultimately allowing him to accomplish his goal of creating space.
Just flat out ignore him. If you're losing the laning stage with them playing 4v5 and against hard carries, you have other issues you need to be worrying about. You have any idea how excruciating slow it is for a techies to farm and get levels if noone dies to his mines?
most of the time the teckies just causes drama within the team and they start flaming eachother not realizing they are falling into a trap
