I mean I got a level 250 compendium so I can have all the hats but getting level 2000 is a whole new level of autism

i am sure rich kids can afford to spare a couple of thousand to show off to their friends as well. Those that i know, don't value money and boy do they burn $$
I'd be willing to drop that much items just so I can get Enigma, SK, Disruptor and Lesh's Immortals.
It's just show off. Also you get an incredible compendium gold bonus, which results in an almost infinite amount of "free" sets.

What purpose does this serve? Are they millionaires? Do they love dota so much they want to dump $1000 into it by themselves?
As far as hats go, I'm pretty sure compendium levels are not worth the cost.
It's like $20 for 3 chests which will be worth like $3 unless you get lucky, but the average will be like $5 probably. Not to mention, with the trading/market restrictions, by the time your items are unlocked for sale, the market will be instantly flooded and everything will be worth no more than a dollar each.
