Only testing it will provide certainty, but it looks very good. 40 bonus dmg active +20 dmg passive and 400 hp for a 1850 gold item. It looks very good.
Compare to demon edge 2400 gold for 46 dmg or 1100 gold for vitality booster providing 300 hp. Here you get 150 more hp + 15 more dmg at half price plus armor, regen, and lifesteal for free.
Every other death pact can be a Super Ult, as if you had an Aghs upgrade for Clinkz, but at only half the cost of Aghs,
Sounds excellent, I mean even without this trick hod is a good pickup since you can stack lifesteal with his orb and skadi. Orchid I always though was more for mana regen and if you must silence a storm type.

You cannot lifesteal from his arrows.

^He said you could stack lifesteal on it, not that he would lifesteal off the arrows. The other damage he does will still heal him up a bit with his high attack speed from strafe and extra base damage from death pact (damage from death pact works with lifesteal, crit, damage amplifications and reductions).
Orchid is also because he has no sort of disable at all. Sometimes people go hex as a second/third item instead of it though, since it's way more reliable against heroes with purge items (manta/eul/db/lotus/bkb), high movement speed, a force staff, blademail, or simply can manfight you while being silenced. Only drawback is hex doesn't give much damage, while orchid gives a decent amount of dps (but clinkz with levels still do a ton of damage, so it's not that much of a deal).
So I just tried it and I didn't notice getting any gold when I ate a dominated creep. So maybe it's not a good idea to use it unless you are about to fight right away, otherwise you lose that bounty.
Interesting post. I think orchid is a great pickup if you are pub stomping, and unsure of what your team is going to do. It's great for solo pickoffs.
At high levels of play, orchid is completely meh, DPS and bkb > orchid, if you have a team that can actually tank and stun for you lol.
If no one can tank or stun / disable for you, then orchid all the way.
The downside of HotD is even though you get more damage and HP you lose out on the gold+xp bounty.

A lot of pro players, when picking Clinkz, don't seem to go orchid anymore, instead going for soul ring + Bkb instead. I was wondering, is HotD a good pickup on Clinkz before Bkb in order to amplify the effectiveness of your ult? I did some numbers and it seems as though the value seems pretty good
Ulting a 1100hp creep without dominating it gives 55/71.5/88 damage and 550/715/880 health
Ulting a 1100hp creep after dominating it gives 80/104/128 damage and 800/1040/1280 health
Obviously this is a specific case but can be applied to other things such as dominating a lane creep to get more value if you can't get to the jungle in time. Of course the passive life steal helps mitigate the cost of soul ring to a certain degree, and can always be built later into a satanic if necessary.
Is this a viable item pickup or is it too gimmicky to be of any real use?
