Hero Ranking System in General Discussion
Slow Hands

I'm sure there are a few threads on this, gone back a few pages but couldn't find anything that I was looking for (maybe I'm blind) and without a search feature, figured I'd just spam another thread.

How is everyone finding the dotabuff hero ranking system? I've taken a bit of note on it for some of my higher ranked heroes and for the most part it seems to be a decent reflection. Had a pretty poor game with my 'best' hero and I dropped about 50-60 points whereas for those average games it's only maybe 20-25 points. I haven't had a massive game that I've taken note on to see if I rise as much as I lost in that poor game.

That being said, I managed to have a game the other day where my team won, I topped the hero damage, hero heal, second highest tower damage, most score involvements although I was just average in terms of hero level yet I lost something like 22 points (game - http://www.dotabuff.com/matches/1013858562). Can't quite figure out how that works?

Team was behind for the majority and I started slowly which might account for something yet once I got my very slow radi I think I helped turn things around quite a lot so I didn't think a bad start would really account for anything either.

It was a solo MMR which was at around 3950 (dropped maybe 100 from a couple of weeks ago when I would have also played the hero), I think my hero went from Diamond 6 to 5 afterwards yet I can't understand how that would have happened in a solo ranking game when I do party with friends that would be a 'lower skilled' game based on the rankings.

I'm sure I'm not the only one that's lost points for a win or the other way around, just trying to figure out how that works given I was strong in most of the stat categories and average in a couple of the others?

We just released an updated hero and facet statistics page featuring more data and advanced filters. Oh, and it supports Turbo!
