He punishes a lack of awareness on the enemy side, and the fact that a passive invis makes people feel like he needs no skill, just 2 seconds to run away
Also the fact that the smoke is a fucking annoying shit and people forget it has a 60% miss chance (if I recall correctly)
I used to main riki and the abuse was relentless, win or lose, from both teams.
One time i was watching my friend who is 800 mmr play riki, and one person on there team said "Riki, are you going to jus stand there or ult?". LOL
Old Riki was extremly much better early game new Riki no escape. Max Blinkstrike+Cloud+ Ancients dmg buff=stompd and with just 1 in the passive you get extremly easy lasthits. Personly i think Rikis usefullnes totaly depends on how the players use the cloud.
Riki is amazing and not cus of his invis, cus of his other utility. the problem is people don't play him as a utility disabler they play him as a solo ganker and carry. It is damn near impossible to escape a riki + one other gank as a caster cus that smoke silence is so long. It has really good radius in team fights too.
People just hate getting stomped by him, simple as that.

I hadn't picked Riki until a few days ago. Why all the abuse? I don't see how he is a noob hero (or even what that means or why it would even be a problem if he was)
He's a hero that takes good game awareness, positioning and care.
