Definetly not dead, but indeed need changes in order to make it more accessable and likeable to use.
Like actually make you not have to login every time you visit the page, make it more clean (dotabuff is extremely clean) etc.
Also some changes that makes you not have to press some button after logging in, but actually redirecting you to the forum or some shit. Same goes for when you comment!
We could all put suggsetions in this thread, however it could have been more suitable to do it on dotaexchanges forum.
Well, websites grow over time. You're not going to get 600 players on your first week most likely. It's new and in development, with reasonable support and good players all over with advice. Inviting your friends is a way to start, and from there, they will have their friends come as well.
You do know the entire site is run and operated by someone who plays 60+ hours of DotA a week, has a full time job, plays football for a club three times a week, and has a personal life to look after. Sites grow over time and there are about 100 something users already and it's only been up a week.
The sites aesthetics will change when I get time or help, people are just used to Dotabuff and don't like to readjust which I didn't plan on when I put the thing together. Actually did some work this evening and the redirecting thing should have disappeared.
For the login issue clear your cache and your browser stuff then try again, most browsers will automatically log you in on stuff like this and if it continues I will look into this.
The site is not dead. It is in development and people are joining daily. An in game guild was created today as well.
Its only been a week since the site went live. We are working on improving it daily.
Havocs a nice man an definetly deserves his reputation.
Good looking
Hard working
and least, amazing to sing ~making up for easy boners .l.
Looking up to this guy, and thanks for all your nice work Havoc.
Lol, havent been online for a week, and you call it dead. Plz, wait a bit. As Havoc said, he has other duties as well.
Sampson is cranky because he can't see a hammer next to his nickname in DotaExchange. Fact.
I have no interest in being anything close a moderator or anything along these lines on a forum, so I don't know why these fake assumptions.
However I've known Havoc for over a year, and he deserve nice words. I'd still be stuck at 3k mmr if it wasn't for this lovely sucker!
<3<3<3 Havoc <3<3<3
I like the concept of the site. It just needs time to grow, and growth means more people, and more people means more feedback. And with people reading the input the site gets better
the person in charge of the coaching subsection (a very useless subsection that serves no purpose) is someone who fed himself in south africa with sandboxie all the way from 4k to 6k, melody isn't banned and then u have that anonymous mod who bans everyone
great start
also the name is bad, dotaexchange sounds like a trading/betting site
should've been eudota.com, awfuldota.com or something that can lead to a community
Yea the name is a little misleading. I can see an exchange being verbal but...it's not the first thing that comes to mind.
I had a look. I see it's a forum, there are countless Dota forums. Why is this one different? If I go on the previously hyped up dotaroot.com I'll find myself looking at a "This page is not available" screen and that was just a forum. Sell me
I think 3.4 is finne for someone who hadn't played a moba before D2. But the questions is why go and read/post on that site over others?
"also the name is bad, dotaexchange sounds like a trading/betting site
should've been eudota.com, awfuldota.com or something that can lead to a community"
Pretty sure it was the exchange of ideas and information or something like that.
"why join a crappy forum if you can post your shit in dotabuff or reddit?"
Because that's where people post their shit, and I was tired of dealing with peoples shit.
The issues in the asian countries is the great firewall which seems to be blocking something about the site, I have the making of a proxy on my to-do list.
"melody isn't banned and then u have that anonymous mod who bans everyone"
Unless someone is a dick they won't get banned and the mod in charge is doing a good job of keeping the forums in check which is something this forum lacked and weeding out the garbage and isn't "banning" everyone as you claim. I know this because...
So yeah there's that....
I am not trying to show anyone up but people are just all wanting their own little space of heaven which will never happen for any of us, people are welcome to join or not and all I am simply trying to do in time is make a community for the exchange of actual usable information without having topics derailed by snobby elitests and anime as both IMO are just as bad as the other.
Well gl. You should make a YouTube channel.. maybe a podcast and of course a twitter account. @dotaexchange as not been taken. you should be grabbing all of these before you launch even if you never plan on using it... because ... you never know when you might.
@
Milnor - I would like to do a podcast with some of the more well know high level DB players
Wave is on there, and is a member but doesn't post anything. I would legitimately like to see him post helpful stuff as he is a good player with decent input, he just chooses not to give it and posts a lot of garbage which is why he hangs out here where there is zero moderation.

no one coming to forum. just wondering why not a lot of people not registering? It has sections unlike this forum.
