They will get them back, at least that is what happened my friend, just open a ticket and send it to steam support, tell them ur e-mail, steam account and mention everything that is related to that, like screenshots can be attached, name of stealer, everything.
@wave wow finnally, i almost thought i did all that shit for nothing, i was like how comes there is no one stupid enough to take my bait.
but wave-sama saves the day :)
sucks for you dude but the most popular ways to get your account stolen are: phishing (AKA a site pretending to be valve but isn't), keylogger, or your password was shitty (this is probably not the case since steam asks for special characters and uppercase i think)
there is also steam guard, i can't log in anywhere without having to also log on my email, i think it's pretty secure. valve can't secure your computer or control your browsing, so any account can be stolen ultimately
I genuinely want to be tradebanned so I don't live in constant fear someone does this again. I understand that there are currently more ways of getting into an account than protecting it...steam guard (obviously) is not a reliable safety measure. The whole offline trade thing is just allowing stuff like this to be taken advantage of and it's down right appalling.
I would like to think that Steam support would be kind enough to get my stuff back as a lot of it is of some worth, and I think until they sort out their appalling security measures I will just lock them in another account which never accepts friends or goes online.
Dude, I sincerely hope you get your stuff back. I don't post on this forum much..or at all I now that I think about it..but just wanted to good luck and hope it doesn't happen again. Seriously though, I wish Valve would offer the option of sending a one-time code to email/mobile or something (I am not a clever man but I am damn sure those bigwigs could figure a better system)
Yeah I got them all back, steam support took their sweet time but all is back as it should be. I would suggest making your profile private and not allowing offline trading so people can't see what items you have so it prevents people adding you for trades.
i got hijacked on wednesday night... still waiting for steam support, cant log into steam, my account's email got changed so i cant just reset my password... fuck this stupid shit
Took two weeks to get my items back
Blocked my account till I confirmed everything was ok
Confirm everything was OK but they didn't respond to my ticket for a week so me/my friends to me all appeared offline.
Block removed after a week
1 week no shopping
15 days no trading no market buying.
Unless you lost a lot of shit it might not be worth it.
Since you are an asshole I found this hilarious. However, if you are someone who likes to collect dota items why dont you have precautions to this shit. You could even turn on the family option and only allow people that dont know the family code pass to not load up dota or be able to trade and sell things.
Wink I had the same situation, it does take around 2 weeks and everything gets returned if it's your first time, I'd still say it's worth it to get it back no matter how little/much you lost
Question. well steam replace your items ?
Yes. The items will be duplicated

he'll get the items back but if he gets scammed again, they won't retrieve it back
the scammer however will lose the items + get trade banned permanently
what if the item is been sold already i already seen an dondo and an ursa set been sold on steam market

Damn, I was certain that the pony was the thief.
and here I thought that steam is actually secured and security code verification exists solely to piss me off.
"i was just trolling"
sure thing kid, havoc get this faggot trade banned permanently
^.^ i love you :)
I still have no idea what just happened. One of badgers friends with his account info stole all his items as a prank? Huh?
nobody stole anything, havoc trolled yu aall from start ..)
What the hell is offline trading? O_O
Contact steam support. I'm sure they'll reverse everything back to normal.
I guess they mean Trade offers

I'm so happy nobody can do this to me, cause I'm tradebanned.
I didn't quite understand how he got into your account though? Didn't read all comments either but, hey.
How can anyone get into your account without ur email shits aswell?
You've had to press some links or something, what up
EDIT: feel sorry for you

Contact steam support and enable steam guard. (Can't go wrong with additional level of protection)
