Trying to lose is never really a motivation for anything, but I am well aware that I will most likely lose the game if I practice a hero I am bad/inexperienced with.
I'm terrible/inexperienced with invoker, ember spirit and meepo for example. Though it may suck for your team that you are playing with, at some point if you want to improve your overall understanding of dota, it is a good idea to play heroes you expect to lose with. Best thing to do is to play those heroes on an alt.
I always try to win the game once it has started... but then there are plenty of heroes I know are very likely to lose and I pick them to play them not to win. Also if I random a hero I play it... for the fun of playing the hero, not because I think the hero will win.
I've got 12 heroes below 25% winrate and I know I am very bad at all of them.

It doesn't help that I pick him mostly when I'm not motivated to play.
games played>20, I guess Gyrocopter & Crystal Maiden. I don't know why but I just can't win w/ them.
IF we're talking about heroes with a reliable sample size of games (like more than 25) than Invoker is my only really low hero (46% atm) I have some around the 20% mark or less but they're mainly less than 10 games

tiny... stun/toss combo always own noobs. that or throwing your allies or game, lol.
Relaxation over stress, I go for medusa. afk farming and happy go lucky hero. win or lose doesn't matter

For me it's Dazzle for sure! I have other "cursed" heroes too, but with Dazzle I'm confident I'm not losing because of "bad team mates".
Earth Spirit. When you choose it, the enemy goes into try hard mode and your team goes into "we got es we win so i can do whatever the fuck i want" mode.
I would never try to lose a game but I'd pick meepo or invoker. Never played either cus I know I would suck.
