I report anyone who:
- Selects English but doesn't speak it
- Dies for retarded reasons and refuses to listen to teammates
- Purposely does stupid shit like feed couriers, drop items, tell enemy we are Roshing, etc.
- Abuses stuff like Force Staff, KoTL Recall, Io ulti
- Builds really really really bad items, I'm not saying I'll report Kunkka for getting Vanguard, but if I see Riki get a Refresher Orb and we haven't already won the game, he's getting reported

Game ruining is when you... well ruin the game for people, be it throwing, or excessive flaming (even though flaming has its own fix called MUTE THE PERSON).

MMR is your rating in the game, the higher it is, the better you are. Currently the average MMR is 2250, which is really shocking because even people at 3000 are tremendously bad at DotA 2. Pros and very high tier players are at 5000+ MMR, and good players are generally 4000+, but you will still see the eventual noob even in higher tier games.

Reporting is done by opening the roster (the thing on the top left corner that looks like a menu button), this lets you see all 10 players of the match, their level, etc. To report someone, click their name and click report player (this can only be done when in the match), you will be presented with 3 reasons why you are reporting them, click the one that suits your reason and put any additional details in the text box that shows up. If you want to mute someone, open the roster and click the little speaker symbol next to their name, this will disable any sound they make on mic or any word they say in game chat for you.

I spent the entire day reading dotabuff and trying to get some grasp of anything related for dota 2, but this one thread made it way faster, and better.

I believe you need to reach level 13, after that you'll be able to play ranked matchmaking.

Complete 10 placement games in ranked matchmaking and your MMR will become visible.

how did you find out about dotabuff as new player

Doing Google search for dota and things related to it, made first stop on Reddit. After scrolling a lot, and i mean a lot, i found about dota buff and dota Dev.

Just a tip: Don't use dev unless you are reporting bugs, everything else pretty much belongs here or reddit (dont use playdota, ded forum)

Also, don't play Io, Invoker, Meepo, or Dark Seer as a new player, very very very high skill requirement and/or cap on those heroes.

Best options to learn the game with: Sniper, Drow, Bane, Jakiro, Vengeful Spirit, Bounty Hunter, Riki, Zeus
And for future reference: Never ever ever build a Vanguard.

Didn't know that about dev, and ty. About heroes, i played a lot wisp and invo in wc3, but i still can't get used to dota 2 mech and other things. Especialy wisp bals :O

DotA 2 has a very different feel from WC3, I really think you should avoid these heroes until you get used to everything.

Yea exactly. Tried them in 2 games,and i just won,simply be having good team. Other wise, i would feed like shit. When i saw invokers keys,i was like dafug is this.
