"They" dont say much about Relentless, its mostly kami, who is an official jester of dotabuff. True, there are people that dont agree with him on some matters, but i dont think they think badly of him.
Regarding the thread- for me the most interesting aspect of the drafting nowadays are the bans- there are a few heroes topping the bans by a long shot- up to puck more or less.
number of games is still low to judge with but I guess meta has not really changed, compared to this http://kronus.me/cn/the-international-2013/matches.php very few heroes look like to have changed popularity (razor rised to tier 1).
These are only the games by TI3 teams, several of them have not even played yet. Navi, DK, Liquid, Zenith, LGD.Int have no games post TI3.
What I found was most of the new hero picking is being done by Tier 2 teams. Abaddon seems to be the only one picked up by more than one of the top teams. Although VP plays everything. Batrider seems to have only been given to a TI3 team when someone (another TI3 team) had a real plan to make him irrelevant (hence 0-5), basically his 5 loses are the 5 games wisp won, and relocate disjoint of lasso was used.
I think we will see more change as they play more games. This week I have seen a bunch of SF picks, but it only shows up here in a few bans.
Nope, OD still blocking him...only VP running SWM supports. Very sad.
There are so many wonderful heroes that could be excellent solo mids that just don't get any play because no one wants to lane then against OD or have to waste a ban on OD.
Relentless hates OD so hard he is gonna start a campaign for the hero to be removed from the game.

Troll, Elder Titan, Abaddon, and Spirit Breaker have been picked by a lot of pro teams lately. This has caused a lot of changes in drafting. The performance of many heroes at The International has also had a big influence on how drafters value them. I was interested to see what the teams who played at TI3 have picked and banned since.
In the past I like to short-cut such investigations using dota-academy but they seem to have died; nothing has been updated since TI3 so I had to grab all these manually from joindota. TI3 teams have played 55 games for which the draft details were available on joindota and I estimate there were about 10 more games that joindota missed. Unfortunately those are not included.
Overall the TI3 teams record was 28-27 win-loss. That make be surprising, but keep in mind about half of those games are against other TI3 teams so there are a lot of games that add +1 to the win and the loss column. This does mean however that the weakest of the TI3 teams east and west have been losing games to teams that were eliminated in the qualifier and some new teams.
A lot of the diversity that was present at TI3 has continued afterward and some new elements have been added as well. I put these in order of the most bans. So far it appears that the TI3 teams have been slow to pick up the new heroes, although several of them are using Abaddon.
