KP vs Aspera in Starladder VII

    http://www.joindota.com/en/live/jDRed

Aspera attempts a 5 melee team with AM+Naga+Alch defensive with timbersaw mid and DS offlane.
KP is laning troll mid with weaver solo safe lane and aggressive tri-lane NP +Visage + SB

Right away we begin to see why people say "5 melee ftl". Your position has to be so perfect to do attacks with melee heroes. You don't normally think of an attack as an "ability" but when no one has range you can see clearly that it really is a low cd ability.

the phase are more for the dmg, weaver is mobile enough himself

With normal weaver plays Silvers is right...but EE loves to dive that extra bit and phase lets him do it. He wants to use up nearly all hp and mp when his ult is up.

We need to see the forgotten Brewmaster coming back against all this physical dmg.

yeah, brewmaster got lost somewhere along the way... as far as i remember, he was a common (not regular, but still common) pick a few months before ti3... These were beautiful times, with magnus picked almost every match...

Brew was very popular before and after TI2 despite the bug where you could smoke and disappear from his vision during his split...but they fixed that bug and yet somewhere along the way to TI3 he just dropped out of the game.

But I would think he would do really well again now so often against a melee solo mid and up to 75% miss against those physical dmg dealers is just devastating. Brew has more early-mid game dmg and control than nearly any other hero.

Maybe, but i think that the problem is, that, given the investment of gold and exp through the mid lane, he doesnt have too much to offer late game apart from his ultimate. True, the miss chance is great, but his nuke doesnt scale, the passive evasion isnt that amazing and the beer.... splash doesnt affect magic immune heroes. And therre is always mkb, which makes 2 of his skills pretty ... less effective. He would have to dominate early to mid, which is always risky, since there is no way of ensuring that. Without impact, he will quickly fall off. He is mana intensive and there are ways of abusing that issue. All together- the risk of taking him and investing in him is too big for the reward you could get. Sth like that. I feel he is like stalker or slark, who need to keep up, otherwise they are out of the game.
