Seems like Valve matches people acording to their general win rate, at least thats what I think.
I have a negative win rate due to (I know I'm not a pro player) but I usually get matched with low levels players and I end up losing cause I play mostly supports who can win the game by themselves.
now you can't dodge games without picking heroes anymore because it gives you abandon+loss, valve casualizing the game
Win rate probably isn't a thing they include when matching people, but why I've pointed it out is it's a nice basic measure of where you queue - I've never seen a guy with over 55% win not queue into very high for example, so it's easy to say none of these players had as low MMR as a 1 game player should

They are a 5 man smurf stack which was at the time you qued (3 min window?), the 2nd highest average MMR in the EUwest que. Your team was the highest average MMR and it places 1 v 2.
The main problem with this idea is that you noted the game was page 4. While the 1 v 2 game for EUwest should be page 1 or at least 2.
Sometimes I notice the entire first page is full of games in progress so the next top game from the que could go to page 2. But I can't remember ever seeing both page 1 and 2 all games in progress.

They can't be a 5 man smurf stack when PL has ~2000 games and magnus almost 3000 out of the people with stats on. They also spammed report cm report cm 1 game player etc
I just mean that the unknowns and the cm were the smurfs.
....well if they were trying to report cm then maybe this is again a complete failure of matching.

Ok I watched the game. CM is not a nub, he is an intentional loser. This account was made for the purpose of throwing games.
He demonstrates an advanced knowledge of dota 2 mechanics, skill moving his hero...clearly acts to troll both the enemy and his allies...but primarily his objective is to lose the game and laugh about it.

His next game is also an intentional loss. Although he began clearly giving his best effort to win...and certainly can play in Very High. He rage quit at his 2nd death ensuring the loss.

As well as the CM you mentioned, bought linken, radiance and got 24/2 in his first game.

The 55% isn't a threeshold for very high, and the calculation of MMR has nothing to do with the win-rate, but just the wins. Whenever I play with a friend that has close to 1.4k wins with 51% win rate, I end up on the 1-3 pages, absolutely every time. Even though I don't have a 55% win-rate, I don't usually NOT play in the very high; as you can see in the link bellow.
I really don't understand why anyone would actually do something like that. The other day I was in a game with a Disruptor who took his name a bit too literally. Feeding the courier to the opposing team, using it to hide teammate's items all around the map, stuff like that.
I just don't understand why you would want to prevent other people from having fun. What do people get out of this?

Even if it was a throw account, I don't see how it can end up on page 4 after 1 game, they've overdone that smurf detection and it jumps you up way too high while seemingly also being dependable on KDA
No relentless, I could've downloaded the replays for you but they expired already. It's just a pickup team of random online people from my f list playing just for the sake of playing anyway, there weren't any mind blowing games

also smurf detection is random too I created few one game accounts to try reach top pages after only one game and failed each time no matter how much gpm and xpm or kills
dont trust me see for yourself create new account it takes 1minute then open console type dota_full_ui 1 to skip tutorial and stomp first game and tell us what page did u play your next game :D
it seems like sometimes the mm thingie freaks out and creates unbelieveable matchups. most of the time it works well though.

4 man stack of players with 55%+ win rates, tons of games, and a tuskarr with 56% win being put with as, also a guy who i frequently see on the front pages
Queue wasn't exceptionally long, normal day time
It ends up as a page 4 game which is weird, since in 99% of the cases I get page 1-3 no matter if solo qing or party
And there's a 1 win crystal maiden on the other team, whose rating is she matched with here? Nobody queued with new friends, nobody queued with normal bracket players so what's the deal with valve and their rating system? How can you even play page 4 after stomping people with SF in normal bracket?
Bonus: I've got a 3 games (2-1) player ( http://dotabuff.com/players/144493437 ) in one of my games that I also queued in a 4 stack on my side demanding mid as the 5th player, and ive dodged that one seeing he's got 3 games. Look, he's lost more than won in placement matches but somehow he ended up in my queue
