Team Liquid defends Epicenter title
Team Liquid has defended their Epicenter title in a convincing 3-1 victory over Evil Geniuses. The Europeans almost faced elimination in the group stage, but managed to squeeze into the playoffs thanks to Team Secret. In the playoffs, Liquid took out home favorites Virtus.pro 2-1 and Chinese newcomers LFY before advancing to the finals. Epicenter is Team Liquid's second LAN victory in the post-Kiev season, following their victory at StarLadder i-League Invitational 2.

7.06d hits after Epicenter, nerfs Bristleback
Following the conclusion of the Epicenter grand finals, Valve immediately released a new balance patch. Epicenter showcased a variety of hero strengths that needed to be addressed. Bristleback, Crystal Maiden and Treant Protector were among the top picks and received several nerfs to be dealt with.

Today, Valve released the Immortals Treasure chest II. Chaos Knight, Treant Protector, Pudge, Elder Titan, Bloodseeker, Lina, Keeper of the Light (rare) and Necrophos (ultra rare) all receive an immortal. In addition to the rare drops, there is also a very rare drop which awards the player a "Golden Immortal Treasure Chest". The chest drops golden versions of the Pudge, Chaos Knight and Lina immortals.

- NBA player Jeremy Lin, who was part of Free to Play and was at TI5, cast a game of his own team, VGJ, at The Summit 7. A VOD of his appearance and commentary can be found here.
- With the conclusion of Epicenter, Dota 2 is now the first esports title to pay out over 100,000,000.00 USD in prize money.
Tournament Overview
- The Summit 7 has begun and Team Secret and LGD-Gaming have secured a top 3 position each. The tournament will conclude on Sunday, 18 June.
- Galaxy Battles will also conclude this Sunday. A typhoon postponed the beginning of the event, causing a format change to accommodate the schedule. TnC will await the loser of Planet Odd and Newbee in the loser bracket final. The final bracket can be found here.
