RFC: how do I survive as an underlord against a luna ogre lane guys? in General Discussion

I feel I should've skilled firestorm first and pushed the first wave, but even if I didn't do it, was it so bad that everything spiralled out of control.
Usually I feel like I can defend towers so well with underlord, but this game, I couldn't even stop them from destroying barracks.
    What did I do wrong?

    Here's the match id: 6199285094

    Thanks

You just need Ursa in the land with you :lick:

In lane, you should have gotten an early magic stick since both luna and ogre spam spells, raindrops are also good mana regen and decent against lucent beam harass. Pipe was a good item pick up but crimson guard is kind of a bad item right now and isnt great against the other team. Also Guardian greves generally are strong early/mid game and you usually shouldnt build them 40 min into the game.

Another recommendation is not to buy so many clarities in lane against 2 high cast range heroes as they will just cancel them. A couple of mangos and a wand would have helped much more for mana issues.

A better item build in my opinion for this game would be wand, phase boots, pipe, shivas, bkb.
If the lane is too hard try pull your creep wave into the large camp to make the enemy wave come under your tower. The pull time is 18/48 secondes.

against luna u pretty much want a wand. especially a high spell cast lane like luna + ogre.

not a fan of bottle. would probably have rushed a ring of health, into a hood, then finished wand and then got boots.

boots dont do much when you're ignited and you're being lucent beamed.

just play how you were playing, very afraid and get what you can. i think when you died it was bc you wanted to freeze the lane outside your tower, but you coulda not died by being a bit further back and just q the wave and then got hood asap. if you didnt rush hood i would have gotten it after bottle + boots for sure, but idk maybe bottle is fine i dont play underlord but it's just a lot of gold for an item that will help you sustain but wont let you live burst. if you had a hood or cloak + wand instead of bottle, i think you survive that engagement

if you got an early ring of health instead of bottle, i think they can't stop you from getting xp unless you go too far up.

rush hood, get stick and raindrops and they cant do anything. You can start with aura and deny, deny, deny so the lane push in and you can safely get your hood. Even without boots.

Sounds like it shouldn't be too hard a lane. Once you get ring of health/wand (because you should have that, not a bottle) You can easily hold the lane indefinitely. Most of the comments above are correct imo, but I don't think an E build is ideal here. It's fine to start with E level 1, but after that you're maxing q. Bottle was such a bad pick-up it alone would grief your lane.

I watched the first minute, and noticed two things that incredibly griefed your lane:

                1. You didn't drag the wave back:
You didn't creep aggro back as your wave approached around the 1:00 minute mark. This resulted in both you and your Rubick losing more than half your health, and missing tons of CS. This one's completely on you - huge mistake.

                2. Your rubick got fucking telekinesis first skill.
What? He needs W to secure the ranged creep and trade... You can't directly control this, but I notice that he was in your party so... Tell them never to do that again. Super bad.

At 1:30 you continue to not creep aggro. Super bad. You missed out on even more CS here. After that you stand in front of your tower and allow the dire double wave to hit you and almost die. Why?? Just walk back to your tower and safely farm. Painful.

At 2:00 minute mark you use all your mana Q-ing a wave that is already pushing into you and not being contested or pulled. Complete waste of mana, and you take half your health in damage to do it. At 3:00 minutes you Q an uncontested wave again for no reason. I'll stop watching there.

Here's what will single handedly increase your mmr by 1k:

!CREEP AGGRO!. You're getting fucked and you don't creep aggro the enemy wave towards your tower. It causes you to miss out on all the CS and almost die multiple times. Literally this is all that matters for you. Without this you're going to be hard stuck at your mmr.

Don't waste your mana. You don't need to use your Q if the lane is pushing into you and they're not pulling. You just win then. The lane is free. You Q the wave out when you need to contest a pull, or make room to pull yourself, or you want to force the wave under the enemy tower, or secure CS. You don't just Q the wave for no reason and get denied all the creeps.

Hope this helps and best of luck!
