Maelstrom is the third most cost effective DPS item in the game after Mask of Madness and a Diffusal Blade (agility heroes).

Getting Mael can be good:
- When you can't afford the battlefury and need a farming item
- When you can't commit 4.4k (with the 2.2k demon edge buildup) g because of non-stop fights/ganks on battlefury
- As a cheap anti-evasion item (25% true strike)
- Against high armor with low hp ennemies
Is it just me or does maelstrom/mjolnir just suck especially on melee heroes, even agility ones?
It's the battlefury that feels great when you OS (one shoot) these waves with crit PA :)

+999, the power spike given to focus fire is just broken in early-midgame
TLDR:
- Cheap anti-evasion item (2.7k g for 25% true strike) that people tend to forget
- Less committing farming item (applies in a snowball in which you must keep pressuring or when you are behind)
- Third most cost effective DPS item
- Don't skip it on windranger/windrunner/Sylvana

Why would I buy this now when battle fury exists and yasha-based items just got buffed.
When does anyone use these? I guess it's good if youre a ranged hero and you need to kill a lot of illusions?
