I think it's just more simple and fast paced, which isn't bad, just different.

Lmao, "Heroes of the Storm" is so close to "Defense of the Ancients". We all know where they got their inspiration.

I can't understand why they replaced boots with mounts... Diablo looks really stupid on the little horse. Also for heroes with wings it's kinda' pointless to ride a walking horse, isn't it?

Going by Purge's review, I'd say it's probably a fun casual thing, but doesn't really have much depth.

It's definitely not made to replace or challenge DotA, that's a plus. Seems like a fun thing to put a few hours into.

I think blizzard will be very creative and introduce some new blood into moba game genre. other wise who will play their game given (relatively) well polished dota2 and lol.

Something I think (hope) blizzard will do:
1. customizable and multiple maps. who said that moba has to be played on 1 fixed map ?
2. open maps and good map editors. let the community generate tons of maps. also the game mods, like dota IMBA or what's on d2ware.net. But blizzard has 1 or several official maps for serious game play.
3. Rank system, ladder, visible to all.
4. level system. Right now the player level (based on battlepoints) in dota2 is shit and nobody take it seriously. Blizzard can make it better and let the player feel they are leveling up and feel like play rpg. The higher the player level (not skill related), the more collectible cards, hats you can have or whatever.
5. achievement system, volve what have you been doing ? you promised achievy long time ago.
6. integrated social network system and statistics system so that we don't need a HoSbuff.com.
7. better match making. since you have visible rank scores, you can see all the teammates and oponents have similar ranks/scores so that nobody complain about mm system.
8. also, like glyph in dota. some global level aggressive feature like area bombard, 10sec dmg booster, etc
9. console and controller version of the game. blizzard did that for diablo3. and console d3 is better received that pc ver. no big console moba game. cool to play using a controller (well ...i am old and it sometimes hurts my shoulder a lot to play mouse game so intense like dota2)

Blizzard is always innovative and ambitious. lets hope for the best.

^All you ask for is quite Blizzard style. My bet is the new game will have all these 9 points. Also probably will also have the "Blizzard style balances" at each patch (Ex: spell dmg from 100 to 1000 then back to 300).

#8, I actually don't want that :3, having spells like that feel gimmicky and hard to predict, glyph is ok as it means you can't insta push (cough cough Aliance)
#9 its kinda hard to use a controller in a Moba, maybe Smite...

Ghost is so hot. I was a hardcore starcraft 1 fan in 1996. Koreans were not human in ladder. Those guys won tournaments with 350 apm wtf?

Every time my opponent in ladder said "hasu, gosu, seoul, or no bm," I know I'm at 30% chance to win lol.

It's going to be free and supported by micro transactions is what I've read. Knowing blizzard that probably means hats. Blizz doesn't usually sell stuff that gives you an in game advantage (look at wow, it's all mounts, pets, account transfers).

Also knowing blizzard the beta will last at least a year. They take forever to go from beta to live.

Heroes of the storm rips off dota? Well duh, dota is a wc3 mod originally so the style and characters are going to be very similar. Brew used to be a freakin paneran until blizzard copyrighted them and valve changed the model.

The little I watched, I'm not impressed with it. I'm also not impressed with Hearthstone, either.
